DCF needs to just get closed down. This is the worst state agency in all of Connecticut. Incompetent and overworked caseworkers slave day in and day out to serve an even more incompetent and ineffective commissioner. The commissioner doesn't even have a background in child protective service by the way, only a background and law. And that's why everything is so messed up in the DCF system today. The commissioner is completely delusional and has no idea what they are doing. They think using their law background is going to help these vulnerable kids succeed. That's why I strongly hope Governor Malloy will finally elect a DCF commissioner who is competent at what they are doing, somebody who has a background in social work not law. Someone with a vast background in social work would be able to fix some of the problems which the current commissioner is obviously unable to do.
