Great amount of activities and rooms. During summer break of the school year it's free for military families. There is an underwater-themed area in the lowest level that is fot children three and under. The addition of the feudal/medieval era-themed room in the top floor made a world of difference as far as crowding. It's also within walking distance of Main Street (less than a block).
There are a large variety of rooms filled with huge interactive play areas. We liked it so much that we bought the membership. Geared towards kids up to 7 ish years old, they've got a separate play area for children under two. My 20 month old is big enough to do everything with just a little bit of help, and we've been 3 times already and still find new things every time we go. My husband calls it the kid palace, it's like a child's dream come true.
So much fun - my 2 yr old is in heaven every time! We've been visiting since he was 18mths, and every time is exceptional! He gets so excited/ worked up that he jumps from one room to the other, the entire time excited and loving it!
Great place to take kids to play. I've been here twice with my kids while we're in CT. So many different rooms to explore. My only complaint would be that some patrons didn't really respect the toddlers only room....the museum staff did enforce it, however. Kudos to them. There are some nice coffee shops and restaurants to check out in the area too.
So much fun for kids. This place almost seems endless with the different rooms you can explore. Really neat interactive things you can do depending on the room your in. My child spent 2 hours and didn't want to leave. Easy way to blow through a couple hours. Only thing missing is a little food or snack bar. Lots of fun for kids.
