The staff was very compassionate when our dog Zoe had to be put to sleep. Dr Malek explained every part of the procedure and made the process much less painful for our family. She was such a part of our family and they treated her very special.
I have 4 cats that are all up to date with all vaccinations and always bring them here for checkups. Donna and the ladies at the desk are amazing as always and extremely helpful and courteous, as well as the nurses! Dr. Brothers is extremely knowledgeable and takes the necessary time to treat your animals and to explain everything in great detail! It is such a friendly environment especially with the happy animals that come up and greet you! You can't go wrong bringing your pet/s to this place! You can also buy special food for your animal/s at this location.
I've gone here all my life with my dogs and cats. Dr Brothers it's one of the best out there. Always honest, knowledgeable and compassionate, I drive over thirty minutes each way because of how great the staff here is.
I am very disappointed in the way that Dr. Malek treated my dog and myself. The ladies were all very nice and welcoming and my dog was fine, but as soon as Dr. Malek came in the room he barely greeted me and just asked "is your dog friendly" and I said yes, since he is. Instead of greeting the dog or getting his attention since my dog was facing the door he immediately just went to grab him without even asking me to simply have him come over to him. Dr Malek needed him to face the other way so he just grabbed his collar and under his belly to try to turn him around and so my dog growled at him because it was completely unexpected and uncalled for. By now he seemed annoyed that I told him he was friendly and he growled so he grabbed his leash from me and my dogs front feet were off of the ground because he was holding the leash up so high, again, by his neck. I tried taking the leash back to get my dogs poor feet back on the ground and he wouldn't let go or let my dog down until I grabbed his collar. I told him he was not clear about what he wanted me to do with my dog since we were just standing there in the room waiting for him to tell me what he was gonna do and he gave me attitude saying I needed to make him stay still, mind you he didn't put him on any type of examination table we were just in a room with a desk and I was never told any instructions or that I was the one to hold my dog for the shot, he just assumed I knew even though it was my first time there. I told him my dog usually gets examined on a table with his leash tied up, so he picked him up by his leash attached to a choke collar and back legs....mind you my dog is 90 pounds but any size dog you should not be lifting them from their neck, especially when there's a choke collar! He had a regular collar on as well, so even that would've been a better option to pick him up from, but again, why would anybody, especially somebody that is supposed to be trained in how to handle animals, pick up a dog from around it's neck just blows my mind. My dog whined while the vet was choking him since he basically hung him from the leash to get him up onto the desk. The vet didn't even ask me if I wanted to lift him up myself, he just did it after I told him he's always been on a table when getting shots. Once my dog was on the table he then forced his butt down instead of having me simply ask the dog to lay down. He completely mishandled my dog and I'm not sorry that my dog growled at him because I would too, he honestly should not have a license I am completely disgusted with how he treated my dog. He ended up putting a muzzle on him for a simple shot because my dog growled once for being mishandled. ........I will definitely not bring my dog here again.
My first time using this vet, and I have to say I will never go back. and of course after I share my story with friends I find out, that one person who does rescue brought a dog here, and they did such a hack job when I came to the surgery, as they did with mine. They then came me 10 mins to get to the vet and I got an attitude because I was late, well I told them I didn't live in Middletown. So never, never again will I use them, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. First experience is suppose to be the experience that drives people back, not away.
